Cold, headache, acidity, gas – in sab ke liye OTC medicines easily mil jaati hain. Problem tab hoti hai jab hum multiple brands saath le lete hain, sochte hue “ye to normal dawa hai, kuch nahi hoga.”
Kaafi cold–flu combination tablets me already paracetamol hota hai. Agar tum headache ke liye alag se paracetamol ya combination le rahe ho, to total dose dangerous level tak pahunch sakti hai. Same ingredient different packets ke andar ho sakta hai, naam alag ho.
Some OTC painkillers (NSAIDs) acidity badha sakte hain, kidneys pe load daal sakte hain, ya BP affect kar sakte hain – especially agar frequent ya high dose use ho. Unko acidity medicines, blood thinners, ya other prescriptions ke sath mix karne se risk increase ho sakta hai.
Herbal ya “natural” tag bhi guarantee nahi deta. Kuch supplements medicines ke effect ko increase ya decrease kar sakte hain. For example, kuch cheezein blood thinning effect strong kar sakti hain, jo surgery ya injury ke around risky hai.
Safe route – ek hi type symptom ke liye ek hi product use karo, labels padho, aur agar tum already regular prescriptions pe ho to new OTC start karne se pehle doctor/pharmacist se short check-in kar lo. Thoda precaution future me big complication se better hai.
